Hi, I’m Marek Muc FCCA, an independent IFRS expert with 15+ years of experience in corporate reporting and technical accounting.
I work with companies and audit firms to provide remote support on complex IFRS application issues. Before going independent, I followed a fairly traditional career path: a Big 4 audit background followed by roles in industry across technical accounting, corporate reporting and management.
My online presence began in 2018 with the launch of IFRS Community. It started as a way to break the monotony of my corporate job and connect with fellow IFRS geeks. I also wanted broader exposure to different technical accounting issues. After all, there are only so many you encounter when working at a single company, no matter how big it is. Then, in 2023, I launched Reporting Period to stay in touch with those of you who prefer reading to posting – the shy ones 😉
